Breakfast was a yogurt mess with coconut Chobani, raw oats and cantaloupe. I always have some strong black coffee with breakfast too, but it never makes it in the photo!
Snack was a Mama Chia snack pouch.
For lunch, I headed over to Mendicino Farms for a yummy tuna melt on buckwheat bread.
After work, I ran some errands, then headed home to make dinner for my sickly fiance. He requested chicken soup and grilled cheese, so that’s what he got!
I picked up a can of the Progresso light chicken pot pie soup for us to share and it was really good!! The grilled cheese was made with sourdough… the best kind of bread!
We lounged around for the evening catching up on the DVR. Hopefully the comfort food dinner made him feel a bit better!
Hi there! Long time, no talk. Thanks for all the love on my headache post. I’ve been able to avoid a major migraine since that one, and I really think stress is the major culprit. I’ve been focusing on just staying calm and not getting too worked up about wedding stuff. I sound like one of those lame “Keep Calm and…” posters, don’t I? I got a massage this week which was HEAVEN, and I honestly feel like a new person!! I think I need to splurge on those a little more often.
So what else has been going on lately? Not too much. Rich and I had a low key weekend a couple weekends ago and got a lot of wedding stuff accomplished. We picked up some of our last decor items, and finalized our dessert menu with the bakery!
So to keep myself occupied during Rich’s Bachelor weekend, I decided to take a few of my favorite girls down to the Saguaro resort in Palm Springs. This is mostly going to be a photo dump because we took about 9 million photos.
My day started at the DryBar! My happy place :)
Coffee for the road.
We got there around 2 and immediately poured some drinks! (Skinny pina coladas… my summer obsession. Coconut vodka, soda water and a splash of pineapple juice.)
They had left me a little note and bottle of wine in the room for being part of their hospitality program. So fun!
Fireball shots were had by all.
Then it was pool time!
We spent a few hours lounging and swimming, then got ready for dinner at El Jefe inside the hotel.
Charred pineapple marg. The bomb.
Esquites for our appetizer!
Heidi and I shared the steak tacos and nachos for our main meal.
We ended our night downtown at the Village Pub for some more drinks and dancing.
Such an awesome day in the desert with my girls!
Friday breakfast was brought in by our accountant! His wife is apparently an incredible cook. Check out this spread!
She made veggie frittata, sausage egg casserole, banana nut muffins and some fresh fruit.
It was all delicious but my favorite was the veggie frittata!
At lunch I had some errands to run and stopped into Ralph’s real quick where I stumbled upon this little slice of heaven.
ALL THE PUMPKIN BEER!!! Too bad it was like 100 degrees outside. Not nearly fall here in LA. I can’t wait to try the Red Hook one though!
Lunch was half a tuna melt from Mendicino Farms.
Friday night was a low key night in for me. I bid Rich adieu for his Bachelor party weekend with the boys so I had the house all to myself! I ordered some gourmet dinner (thank you, Domino’s), poured myself some wine, and finished season 1 of Sons of Anarchy.
Such a relaxing solo night. I read in bed for about 3 hours as well then called it an early night to get some beauty rest in before leaving on my epic weekend Saturday morning! :)
So I’m a bit behind as usual after an epic weekend! Let’s start off with last Thursday! Breakfast was a Special K breakfast sandwich plus some cantaloupe. Yum.
Lunch was a Smart Ones lasagna.
Rich and I did some stuff around the house when we got home including laundry, cleaning and starting to pack for our weekend. I whipped up a quick pizza for dinner… TJs garlic and herb crust, mozzarella, goat cheese and chicken apple sausage.
It didn’t come off the pizza stone very pretty but it was delicious! :)
Hooray for 3 day weekends! Sleeping in on Monday was quite the treat. Rich and I decided to head straight to the Beverly Center to look for some Bachelor/Bachelorette clothes for our respective Bach weekend festivities. I thought they would have a better selection of food at the Bev Center but they were seriously lacking! We ended up at the food court, and I decided on a ham, egg and cheese crepe.
It was pretty much inedible. The egg wasn’t cooked all the way which is like my #1 issue when it comes to food. I hate undercooked eggs! I ate the edges since that part was cooked all the way, but left the rest uneaten. Blah.
I found some awesome dresses at H&M for the Bach, as well as some new shoes. I also found an amazing swim suit at Victoria’s Secret but I didn’t get it. I can’t stop thinking about it so I think I’m going to go back at get it!
Once we were done shopping, we headed up to Glendale for a Labor Day BBQ at one of Rich’s best men’s house. There were a bunch of people there who I hadn’t seen in a while so it was fun to catch up!
Lunch was some pesto pasta salad, and potato salad. Random, but it hit the spot.
I also shared a slice of this amazing homemade coconut cream pie with Rich.
Haha, don’t mind the smashed pie photo. It was just soooooo good! The crust was a bit salty, which was just amazing.
Rich and his silly best men. :)
We hung out for a few hours, then Rich, Mike (on the left in that photo), and I headed to Sasafras in Hollywood for a couple more drinks and some food. The bar is SO cool. It is all New Orleans style, and there is an old house INSIDE the bar!
(from their website)
I started with the Watermelon Swizzle drink.
I also had a Peach Moonshine Crusta.
The moonshine was my favorite of the tow. It tasted like peach pie!
We shared a couple appetizers for dinner, including the sweet potato fries and the crab cake.
Both were delicious! The bar has some not so good reviews online, but we had a great time. The bartenders were super friendly, the drinks and food were good, and the atmosphere was really cool. I’d definitely go back!
